NOTE: STUDENTS WHO PREVIOUSLY ATTENDED THIS WORKSHOP CANNOT REPEAT IT AND MUST SATISFY THE SUPPORT SERVICES SET OF REQUIREMENTS (see Registrar or email academicsuccess@qcc.cuny.edu for details).
This MANDATORY 2-hour session is for students placed on academic probation for the first time or for readmitted students with low GPA's who never attended a session prior to leaving QCC.

Factors related to poor academic performance, impact on future retention, and other related topics will be discussed. The presentation emphasizes tools, strategies, and college support services available to students to regain control of their academic career and successfully reach their goals.
Attendance in ONE session is required prior to the next term registration.
Please do not enroll in multiple sessions. Allow ample time before and after your scheduled session to avoid time conflict. No one will be allowed in after session has started. Bring your Student ID card to the workshop.

READ IMPORTANT NOTES BELOW! *Special Topic:Money and Budgeting Basics: Banking Basics, Budgeting Basics, Measures of Financial Health, and Prioritizing Expenses. Mark Alpert from the New York Legal Assistance Group (NYLAG) will discuss the above topics. Single Stop and NYLAG have a partnership to provide one-on-one Financial Counseling to students and their immediate family members. Mark is on campus every Wednesday by appointment for a confidential consultation. IMPORTANT NOTES: Special Topic Workshops are elective and open to any student. Designed to facilitate and enhance learning processes for success in college, they however will not replace the mandatory 2-hour Academic Success workshop. Continued Probation students and Repeaters may use Special Topic workshops to meet the Support Services Requirements. Bring your Student ID and attendance cards to these workshops.

As a college student, it is vital that you have clear and understandable notes to help you study for your class. During this interactive workshop, you will learn different methods of note-taking and discover which note-taking techniques best fits your learning style.
